Six Panel Doors
Old doors can easily be replaced by new pre-primed six panel doors,the blank doors cost about $30.00. The hinges and latch are cut to match the old door. They look great with new hardware and a couple coats of finish paint.

Mom and dad were able to live independantly with the use of a few stragically placed grab bars. Dad had enough arm strength to pull himself up from a sitting position if he could reach the bars.
Dad uses a large dowel attatched to the grab bar to pull himself to the edge of the bed, from there he can reach the grab bar.

We mounted walker like supports on a turntable to help in getting dad from his lift chair to his wheel chair and then from the wheel chair to the lift chair. Dad would pull himself to a standing position then we would carefully turn him 90 degrees and help him sit. It worked surprisingly well and was an inexpensive solution to our problem.
